With the growing alliance between Pakistan and Turkey, I believe the time has come for India and Greece to join hands and act as a defensive wall against these two countries. I, along with several journalist friends from both India and Greece, have been working on this idea for quite some time to strengthen the defense cooperation between the two nations. A similar suggestion was also made by senior Greek diplomat Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos during a recent discussion.

Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos, a senior Greek diplomat who has served in countries like Canada, Poland, Armenia, and Turkey, recently stated in an interview with The Sunday Guardian that India and Greece can work together as a strong front against Erdogan. He also provided some practical suggestions to make this possible. According to him, military cooperation between India and Greece, especially between their air forces, should be enhanced. Joint military exercises in the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea would send a strong message to both Pakistan and Turkey.

Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos further suggested that Greece should openly support India on the Kashmir issue, and in return, India should support Athens against Turkish threats and challenges. Additionally, both countries should actively support each other on international platforms like the United Nations. Cooperation in nuclear technology between India and Greece could also be a strong deterrent, making both Turkey and Pakistan think twice before initiating any military confrontation. He pointed out that Turkey, being a NATO member, has developed a robust defense industry and is exporting weapons globally.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that India too is now building a strong indigenous defense industry that is gaining global recognition. While India and Greece share ancient ties that go back to the era of Alexander the Great, it is crucial that both countries move forward and forge a strong modern partnership in today’s geopolitical landscape. – Dr. Manu Chaudhary
