NASA : US space agency NASA astronaut Sunita Williams has set a new record. She completed a spacewalk of 5 hours 26 minutes outside the International Space Station (ISS). With this achievement, her total spacewalk time became 62 hours 6 minutes, breaking the record of former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson of 60 hours 21 minutes.
Sunita Williams and her colleague Butch Wilmore have been stranded on the ISS since last June 2024. They went on an eight-day mission on Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft but due to technical faults the spacecraft was not safe to return. Because of this, both have had to stay in space till now.
NASA is now planning to bring both the astronauts back safely in collaboration with Elon Musk’s company SpaceX. (Pictures With gratitude of google)
